Miss you too!
I am leaving for Chicago Wednesday morning for work. Tonight while reading I said, "Lily I'm going to miss you so much while I'm on my trip." She responded quickly with, "Well take a picture of me then!"
I can't wait for the sarcastic years from 13-16, it's been GREAT at 5, I can only imagine how much more fun we're going to have!

Dobson Dedication
DJ played in an old timers game today, which just makes me laugh! (Wait, I'm older than him...I'm not laughing anymore!)
Oklahoma Christian built a brand new baseball field and they were dedicating it to Coach Max Dobson, who we love!! So we had to be there. They asked the alumni baseball players to be there for the dedication. It was really fun. We had a great time, and DJ played great in the game too. (Despite the fact that he now needs shoulder replacement surgery....no big deal, he did good in a old timers game, and that's ALL that matters!)
On DJ's old spot on 3rd base...

This lady Rocks!
Lynda Hamilton is one of our dear friends from San Diego. Actually, we've adopted her....she's family!!! Lynda has been through so much in her life, but her faith and walk with God has seen her through! At the age of 10 she received the polio vaccination and it caused her to lose the use of her arms.
She's so talented and an incredible artist....a mouth artist! YES...that's right she places the brush in her mouth and paints! (You can read more here!) I love to see her work!

Lynda's mother Irene was also an amazing woman! She went home to be with God a few years ago, but that is where my little Addy Irene got her name. I know her Guardian Angel, Irene, is always watching over her! Irene is the only 80 year old lady I know who could make better "under arm farting noises" than Damon and Adam could!!! She was great!!!

Blessed
I have a wonderful, STRONG family! I am so blessed.
My dad is a wonderful man. So strong outside, when I know he's got to be scared! He's facing a disease that destroys lives, but he doesn't seem scared at all. His faith is amazing, and I am so thankful for him.
My mom is the strongest woman I know. She doesn't waiver. She sits by his side and is there for him no matter what. She has such a giving heart and is such a wonderful example to me.
My husband is the best! The past week has been insane. He has pretty much been a single parent and when I get home I kiss the girls and him and turn around and go to the hospital. He hasn't said one negative thing. I'm so glad he's mine!
My friends are awesome! So many of you called, or sent me encouraging letters or emails. I know some of you have been through this, and I appreciate you all being there for me.
God is good!!

High School Musical on RAIN
We were supposed to go see High School Musical on ICE Saturday, but it was a wash out! We had a fun time and the girls loved it, but I really had to suck it up. Two things I hate in this world are having wet jeans and wet tennis shoes....both were soaked. I sat in a cold arena drenched for almost 2 hours. It's a good thing Katie, Lesley and Haley met up with me in the parking lot! We had to laugh to keep from crying! We would just scream out for no reason while walking thru the pouring rain for about a mile to get to the arena. Then Lily started to do it, she'd yell out, "Ahhh I hate getting soaked, AHHH!" We were all cracking up.
Even though it was a little miserable, it was a nice day out with my girls and friends, and somehow cheered me up from the dreary week I'd had.

Weekend Roadtrip

Me, my mom, and the girls went on a road trip Saturday. We went to see my grandma, who is very sick in the hospital in McAlester. It was a hard day. With a combination of old age, diabetes, pancreatic cancer, double pneumonia, being in ICU, and being on a ventilator, things don't look good. My mother and I spent time with Granddad at the hospital and talked, and we're very realistic about the entire situation. None of us want her to suffer and I think watching her on those machines made that even clearer! God is good and I know he loves and protects, he will get us through.
And you know a road trip with me, my mom and the girls....something is going to happen! So here ya go.....
When we arrived in McAlester I took the girls by to see my granddad at the hospital (they couldn't see her due to the ICU, which I am glad about.) Then I took them to my Nana's house (my other grandma lives in Mac town too!) I left them there and I went back to the hospital for the afternoon and the girls loved spending the day with Nana getting spoiled, and waited on hand and foot.
We finally leave town around 5:15. We're loaded up and we've had a hard, but good day. As we are driving out of town Addy says "momma my tummy hurts". "Do you need to eat or poop?" I ask. "No!" (Now a side note here is I am driving my moms brand new car with leather, the thing even smells new!) And I say to my mom under my breath "If she throws up in this car, I will have heart failure!" About that time, from deep within, that child pukes more than I have ever seen in my life! I swerve off the road, we get her out (luckily my mom had baby wipes and a bottle of water, or we would have been in serious trouble!) We get her cleaned up (as best we can) and put her in her nightgown. Then mom and I clean up at a nearby gas station. We get on the turnpike and here she goes again, mom is climbing over the seat holding a bag for Addy to puke in, I'm trying to drive, and Lily is saying "Just don't think about throwing up Addy, look out the window or something!" My mom yells "Can't you call Danny Proctor and have him get us a trooper to escort us home???" (She always thinks so logically in situations like this!)
We get to this spot and pull over, and get cleaned up again. Then I get out and get in the back seat sandwiched in between "Pukizoid and Captain Obvious" Lily was saying things like "Gross I can smell it!! this is sickening! can't she stop?" I lost it..."Lily do you not think we know that? We had to clean it up! It is sick, we know that!!! Now sit there and be quiet!" She didn't move, or talk again!
It was the longest 2 hour drive in history, but we made it home. Addy survived. Lily survived. Mom and I survived. The new car smell....didn't survive!!!! (Sorry dad!!)

"My peeps"

I was trying to come up with coordinating sister Halloween Costumes. I thought of Little Bo Peep and her sheep. (Lily would be Bo Peep and Addy would be the sheep.)
I was telling them about it at dinner, I said "Lily you could be Bo Peep and Addy you could be the sweet little sheep." Addy said "No I be peep!" I said, "Well you could be the sweet little sheep, because you're nice & sweet. Her response was loud and clear "NO I BE PEEP!"
I think if Addy was "Peep" it would frighten other children to see her giant "sheep" sister walking with her! Back to the drawing board....
